Since 1 June 2026, claiming the PM Surya Ghar subsidy requires ALMM List-II (domestic solar cell) compliant panels, which industry estimates put at roughly ₹3,000/kW more than non-compliant equivalents. The "Give It Up" option lets you skip the subsidy entirely and use cheaper, non-compliant panels instead, for projects commissioned up to 31 March 2027.
